When starting off blogging, gaining a following on social media is extremely important. There are millions of people who participate in social media and it is almost hard to keep track of how many platforms there are now a days. Social media runs almost everything, so why not let it help out your blog?
When I started my blog, I immediately started my social media accounts and using them actively, the one I really focused on though was Instagram. Instagram is becoming more and more popular as time goes on. Now with over 400 million users, it increasingly becoming a good way to market. Pinterest is all about visuals, and sometimes, a visual is all you need!
Focusing on my Instagram ended up being a great idea, and I was able to gain a following pretty quickly. I have done a lot of research on what people want to see and also the best ways to gain organic followers who will actually have an interest in your content.
So here it is, the 3 strategies I used to go from 0-1000 Instagram followers in less than three weeks.
1. Engaging with followers.
The best way to get your name out there on Instagram is by engaging. Engaging with those in your niche or who are interested in your niche is even better! If you show an interest in what they like to post, then maybe they will find interest in what you post as well. You can engage by following, liking their posts, or commenting on their posts. I try to use my hashtags to find those in my niche, this way, I know that their content is similar to mine.
It also helps to find accounts that are in your niche, and see who is engaging with them. If they are enjoying their posts, why would they not enjoy yours? Try these, and I promise, you will see more followers coming to your account.
2. Having a unique name that tells your niche.
While you engage with others, the first thing they see is your username. Making your username explain your niche helps others in your niche know that you have something in common. This may cause them to want to see your account and maybe even follow it.
For example, I use the account name yummyyeatss due to the fact I am primarily a food blogger. This helps other food bloggers know that, chances are, my niche is also food.
3. Making sure your pictures are visually appealing.
Once you drive accounts to your site, you want them to stay. For example, I make sure my food looks good so that people want to look at it. If they like what they see, they are going to want to keep seeing your content. This means chances are, they are going to follow you. You also want your pictures to stand out while compared to others vis hashtags or on a users timeline. Visuals are EVERYTHING when it comes to Instagram.
So that is it! Short and simple! This was all I had to do to go from 0-1000 Instagram followers in less than 3 weeks! That number has even increased since I started writing this post so it is still increasing!
