How To Start A Blog in Just One Day

This post may contain affiliate links.

Starting a blog is simple, and you can get it up and running in just one day! Of course, there is a lot of work when it comes to blogging, you have to work at it everyday in order to find success.  But, the best part about blogging is that you can get started RIGHT NOW!

It takes 4 simple steps to get started.

1. Choose a self hosting server.

Self hosting is EXTREMELY important if you want to have success with your blog.  Not only is this going the help you promote your blog, you also have control over just about everything.  It becomes your blog to customize and your domain to control.

Web Hosting
I have tried two different servers at this point, and I highly suggest Siteground.  Their employees are so helpful and their 24/7 live chat option is a lifesaver!  Everyone I have communicated with has been helpful and kind.  The best part is you can get started with Siteground for only $3.95 a month! Talk about affordable!

This is the first step and probably the most important.  The server is who runs your site and keeps it live, if you do not join a good server, you could have the possibility of losing content or even your site, worse comes to worse.  Do your research! This is an important decision!

I personally started off with the wrong server.  I almost lost my site completely.  I am so thankful Siteground was able to salvage all of my content and get my site live again.  They walked me through every step.

2.Choose your domain

You domain is what your viewers will type into their browser to get to your site.  This is one of the first aspects of your site people will see.  It is important that you make it something that can be remembered.  It is important to also make sure you are checking the availability of the domain you wish to use, because sometimes, it is not available.  If you go through Siteground, they have a domain checker directly on their site where you can check and see if the domain you wish to use is available.
Web Hosting
I also HIGHLY suggest purchasing your domain with the server you choose.  It will help if you ever have any issues with your site.  Usually a new domain is included in your hosting price, you only have to purchase a separate domain if you wish to start another site in the future!

3. Install wordpress.

With Siteground, there is an easy installation option! It will have WordPress up and running with your site in just a few minutes! This is where you can choose your theme and customize your site completely! This is where all the fun and creativity happens! You have the chance to create something on your own and make it what you want! Show off your creativity!

4. Create Content

Your viewers are going to be driven to your site depending on the content you create.  Make sure you are creating content that is rich and you know people will want to read.  Getting your blog out there is important.  You can do this through social media, email lists, etc. There are so many ways!

If you are interested in making money with your blog, this is actually a huge possibility.  If you want to see some tips on how to do this, check out my post How I Made Money in My First Week of Blogging.

So much is possible in the world of blogging.  You can shine and show a part of yourself through your writing and help millions of people! If this is something you have thought about doing, just do it! It is worth it! And you can get started in just ONE DAY!

Happy Blogging!
